A Farewell To The Big Apple.
February may have been a short month, but it was power-packed at DRIVEN!
We’re approaching another milestone with an international financial services firm that is playing all-in on culture-building. Co-Create Culture is a 9-month culture shift that has been designed by my brilliant colleague as a “bubble up”, or grassroots, effort. It’s exciting to see the shifting of energy as greater clarity and momentum are gained, and the baby steps of progress are celebrated. This, as history has shown, will equate to HUGE progress.
The GT panel discussion continues to percolate in my brain. The takeaways for me are that building resilience is fundamental to managing microaggressions and stress, and destigmatizing mental health as self-care is essential. These are both issues for which I can become a more vocal ally.
On a personal note, ending a 24-year run, I am officially no longer a NYC resident! The move-out contributed many illustrations of recognizing and managing my relationship with stress. It was one small step leading to an exciting new chapter of my life— more coaching, less stress; more being, less doing.
It’s an exciting prospect to settle into this new cadence. After the “sprint of February”, I get to slow the pace and recover in March. I’ve declared self-imposed boundaries of weekends unplugged, two days of “PTO”, and no working past 6:30pm.
This vocalized intention will certainly serve as I get ready for a BIG event. I can’t believe that Changing Conversations For A Changing World, Vol. 2 will be released in March! It seems natural for me to have contributed a chapter to this book full of case studies and stories of adapting to the virtual world. That’s because many of my co-author colleagues were riding shotgun to witness my contribution in real-time.
I will also promise myself to spend a smidgeon of that “downtime” thinking about my LinkedIn presence. I was so quick to exit social media that I didn’t consider how I want to interact on this forum. After all, it can inspire genuine connection.
Finally, I invite you to consider some baby steps to spend 30 minutes on this month and going forward in order to make big changes down the road. Here are 3 ideas:
• Have a “coffee chat” with a work colleague or a family member to build better connection.
• Reflect on and celebrate how you lived, learned, and loved during the previous month.
• Put pen to paper and detail 3 priorities for the following month to nourish your mind, body & spirit (See this month’s DRIVEN blog article for inspiration.)
As always, I’d love to hear what’s on your mind and in your heart.
Cheers!

Your Next Experiment
The power of a common understanding across a team will clarify roles and expectations, leading to better communication and ultimately better and more timely deliverables. In her current article on Forbes.com, Deborah Goldstein explores this outlook by getting granular with the words Responsibility, Ownership, and Accountability. The article, which is the 10th in a series of 10 co-created with her writing partner Ute Franzen-Waschke, can be read HERE.
The Next "New"
The COVID-19 pandemic has profoundly changed how business is conducted. And as we transform from the current virtual approach to evolving structures of the future, it’s becoming clear that an all-new model will likely endure. In the new book Changing Conversations For A Changing World, Vol. 2, DRIVEN founder Deborah Goldstein is one of ten business coaches who share stories and case histories on what has worked well, providing the virtual tools and practices that corporate business leaders can carry forward into the new global workplace paradigm. Mark your calendar for our March 30th book launch!
